Spokane Alliance for Fentanyl Education is a community focused organization that aims to create awareness and action against illicit fentanyl in Eastern Washington with our parent organization, the Rayce Rudeen Foundation. S.A.F.E. is a group of community members that saw the opioid epidemic get worse in the community we love and to the people we love. This prompted us to seek out evidence-based resources and experts in the field. When we did, we found that Spokane was rich in resources, experts, and empathy, however, a lot were siloed and had trouble working together. Our goal is to connect diverse perspectives and expertise to address drug abuse more holistically in our community. This is done by the community and with the community we serve.
Our board consists of representation from medical experts, the coroner’s office, higher education, K-12 education, Spokane Police Department, DEA, US Attorney’s Office, Washington Sheriff's Department, the private business sector, families of victims of fake fentanyl, local nonprofit organizations, and faith-based communities.
We collaborate with a variety of organizations and businesses to educate and empower our community
