S.A.F.E.'s 2024 Youth Summit served to bring awareness to the youth of Spokane of the fentanyl epidemic in our community. We brought together community members to discuss the personal impact of fentanyl in their lives, and local experts to provide facts and data regarding current trends.

In 2023, SAFE created a “Lunch and Learn” presentation that explains what fake fentanyl is, including the most recent stats from local law enforcement and naloxone training. This presentation is provided to students, parents, and community leaders across the Spokane area.

discussion from family members and survivors of fake fentanyl addiction.

On October 29, 2022, SAFE held the Family Fall Fest at the Pavilion in Riverfront Park featuring award-winning country sensation, Chris Young. This event hosted 36
community vendors that engaged the crowd with resources, games, and prizes. These vendors included prevention experts, treatment centers, and recovery support services. The event itself
had over 3,000 attendees.

In 2022, SAFE hosted a Leadership Summit that connected community leaders from diverse backgrounds. 175 attendees learned alongside one another, discussed fake fentanyl and the opioid epidemic from their unique perspective, and contributed to a community wide needs assessment discussion that shaped the future trainings, events, and educational materials that SAFE is continuing to create.

S.A.F.E. is effectively educating our community on the dangers of fentanyl and empowering individuals to be confident in leading conversations about addiction.
Since our start in 2022, S.A.F.E. has brought education and fentanyl awareness to 200+ community leaders, 5,000+ individuals and families, and over 2,000 high school students.
Our collaborative efforts serve to remove the stigma surrounding the current opioid epidemic. Together, we can end this crisis!
